Default global shortcuts
Dictation: Ctrl + Space. Assistant: Alt + V. Repaste: Alt + 5. These are initial defaults; General settings displays your actual saved shortcuts. Hotkeys can conflict with another app or a Windows shortcut, so test your choices in the programs you use.
Record a new hotkey
Use Edit beside the relevant hotkey. The capture editor expects a supported modifier followed by a key, such as Ctrl + J. Avoid combinations reserved by Windows or your editor.
- Open General settings and choose the shortcut's Edit control.
- Start hotkey capture and press the desired combination.
- Confirm the displayed combination, or Cancel to keep the previous value.
- Use Clear if you intentionally want to remove that shortcut, then test the resulting configuration.
During capture
Global hotkeys are suspended while the capture dialog is recording a new combination. Finish or cancel the dialog before testing voice recording. This avoids accidentally starting dictation while assigning the same keys.
Quick Assistant typing
Within two seconds of the Assistant response notification, pressing the first key of the Assistant hotkey can type the answer. With Alt + V, use Alt. This short response window is separate from pressing the complete hotkey to start another recording.
Scratchpad editing shortcuts
In Scratchpad, Ctrl + B is bold, Ctrl + I is italic, and Ctrl + U or Ctrl + Shift + X is strikethrough in this build. Ctrl + Z undoes and Ctrl + Y redoes. Ctrl + Plus/Minus changes zoom. Shift + mouse wheel pans horizontally. Standard selection and clipboard commands apply to the active editor.
