01

Write a note

Open Scratchpad and place the cursor in its text editor. Type directly, dictate into the focused text area, or explicitly ask Assistant to add a Scratchpad note. The page combines text and drawing space; focus the editor when you want text rather than a pen stroke.

02

Format text

Select text, then use Font, text size, bold, italic, strikethrough, bulleted or numbered list, text color, and highlight controls. Bold uses Ctrl + B; italic uses Ctrl + I. In this build Ctrl + U or Ctrl + Shift + X applies strikethrough, not underline. The selection determines which existing text changes.

03

Edit and recover

Use Undo and Redo or Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y. The editor's context menu exposes Cut, Copy, Paste, and Select all. Clipboard availability depends on the focused editable area and Windows permissions. Use the text tools after leaving pen or eraser mode if those tools are intercepting input.

05

Use a note as context

When your account supports Index Scratchpad, enable it in Intelligence and leave the relevant page active. Assistant can use that current page as context; this does not automatically include every page. Review synchronization status before assuming a recent edit has reached another session.
